This is not the changelog for 0.6.0, but a part of its changelog. The changelog for 0.6.0 may not be released yet.

Functional components now use independent "Universal Slots"

Thermal Cell, Advanced Thermal Cell, Vacuum Interface, Space Barrier CellIn the past, to fit into multi-blocks, they were disguised as Item Input Slots and Fluid Input Slots. The cost was that they would occupy the quota of real input slots—on machines that limit the number of slots, a Thermal Cell could eat up the only Fluid Input Slot quota, causing the structure to fail no matter how it was built. Now they have been changed to an independent "Universal Slot" identity and no longer occupy quotas.

FixMachines that limit the number of chambers, such as original distillation towers, cannot be formed when equipped with heat-conducting chambers (#1809）。 Previously, structures that could not be assembled will automatically form after the update.

⚠️ A small number of saves are expected to be affected

These few components share the same batch of candidate slots as the input hatch, while the vast majority of slots have been incorporated into the universal storage—Your current arrangement will most likely still be valid and doesn't need to be changed . The structure will only show as incomplete if it happens to be placed on one of the few slots that are not incorporated:Just move it to any casing slot on the main structure that can accommodate an input/output hatch , no need to dismantle and rebuild.

The most likely to be encountered in reality is Machine Control Unit(usable for any machine, easily placed anywhere), followed by Vacuum Interface and Space Barrier Unit(takes effect as soon as you enter the structure, position is arbitrary). Thermal Unit is largely unaffected : it only has functionality on the Thermodynamic Analysis Platform and the Primitive Distillation Tower, both of which have dedicated slots.

Additionally,the Molecular Reconstructor, Desulfurizer, and Blast Furnace'sauxiliary structurearea will no longer accept these components (including Machine Control Units), which need to be moved to the main structure. These three machines' main structures have universal slots, which do not affect normal use.
