Simple, Normal, Expert Mode Feature Guide

Before Reading Notes

The following content is a summary of core features, not a complete list. Game content will be continuously updated, and some settings may be adjusted accordingly. Please refer to the actual version in the game!

Difficulty does not affect game progress or content, only the level of challenge!

Easy Mode

  1. AE2 uses original recipes (no modification)

  2. ME network unlimited channels

  3. Increase steam/power generation, improve generator array machine capacity/turbine output

  4. Configurable maintenance hatch upper/lower limit improvement

  5. No need for cleanroom

  6. Some recipe output increase/simplification

  7. (MV tier) ME simple pattern assembly: pattern assembly with 9 pattern slots

  8. Assembly line no longer requires ordered input

  9. Bedrock ore vein/bedrock fluid ore vein infinite reserves

  10. Parallel control hatch/accelerator hatch value improvements

  11. Steam large machine parallel value increase

  12. Chain mining maximum diggable amount increase

  13. Quest book large material supply

  14. Can enter superflat/void dimension at LV tier

  15. Universal factory parallel doubled

Normal mode

  1. AE2 comprehensive modification (initially unlocked at MV stage, automation enabled at HV stage)

  2. ME network infinite channels

  3. Monster enhancement (higher health, stronger attack, please handle with care)

  4. Assembly line requires ordered input of items to work

Expert mode (Expert)

  1. Harder AE2 modification (initially unlocked at MV tier, automation enabled at EV tier)

  2. ME network channels are limited, please plan your base accordingly; wireless network additionally provides 'source node' and 'sub-node' settings allowing players to aggregate and distribute channels

  3. Enhanced monsters (higher health, stronger attacks, be cautious)

  4. Steam / power generation output reduced

  5. Machines exposed to rain will explode

  6. Recipe outputs reduced / complicated

  7. Maintenance hatch upper and lower limits reduced

  8. Higher radio loss

  9. Insufficient energy while machine is running will cause recipe failure and input to be cleared

  10. Assembly line requires items and fluids to be input in order to function

  11. Parallel control hatch / acceleration hatch values reduced

  12. Power generation equipment will continue generating power when the output buffer is full and destroy excess energy

  13. The muffler hatch installed on the machine must be of the same voltage tier or within ±1 tier, otherwise it will not operate

  14. Turbines have an additional high-speed multiplier mode that allows higher operating speed at the cost of faster rotor wear
